# Confd\_value\_t conversion

Hi,

I wonder if there is a confd API to translate from confd\_value\_t \*v to string/IP/int/…  
Similar to confd\_svcmp which compares between a string to value, if there is a conversion to/from the value.

I found the CONFD\_GET\_IPV4, but could not find the same for string.  
please explain how to convert from confd\_value\_t to string.

CONFD\_GET\_BUFPTR() gives you the pointer to the string, CONFD\_GET\_BUFSIZE() gives you it’s size.

See confd\_val2str() (and confd\_str2val() for the other direction) in the confd\_lib\_lib(3) and confd\_types(3) man pages.
